Easier Scheduling!

We’re excited to share that we’ve made scheduling with our office much simpler. No more back-and-forth emails trying to coordinate calendars!

Going forward, we’ll send you a link that allows you to book phone calls, Zoom meetings, or in-person meetings directly. The link shows our real-time availability up to four months in advance, making it easy to choose a time that works best for you.

We’ve been using this new system for the past few weeks, and it’s working wonderfully. Keep an eye out for the link the next time we set up a meeting with you!

How Women Can Prepare For Retirement

When our parents retired, living to 75 amounted to a nice long life, and Social Security was often supplemented by a pension. The Social Security Administration (SSA) estimates that today’s average 67-year-old woman will live to age 88. Given these projections, it appears that a retirement of 20 years or longer might be in your future.1

Weekly Market Commentary

Week in Review

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) dominated headlines as the Fed cut its target rate by 25 bps, citing a softening labor market and downside risks. Chair Powell noted core personal consumption expenditure (PCE) inflation remains above the 2% target, with goods inflation picking up. While tariffs may create short-term inflation pressure, the Fed expects normalization over the medium to long term.

Something Personal

Company Conference in Washington, D.C.

Marty and Sara recently spent a week in Washington, D.C., attending Cambridge’s annual broker-dealer conference. In addition to a full schedule of meetings, educational sessions, and strategy discussions, we enjoyed connecting with our Investment Advisory firm, Cooper McManus, as well as networking with fellow colleagues over coffee and meals.

Despite the busy agenda, we carved out a little time to explore some of the city’s incredible history and landmarks. This was Marty’s third visit to D.C. — and Sara’s very first!

Marty’s favorite experience was visiting Ford’s Theatre, the site of President Lincoln’s assassination. Standing just a few feet from the box where history changed forever was a surreal and sobering moment. He also enjoyed a fun first — attending a Washington Nationals game, complete with ballpark food and drinks.

We rented bikes to make the most of our limited free time, riding around the National Mall to see as many sights as possible.

Sara’s highlight was seeing the White House — and having an unexpected front-row seat to history. As we rode away, Secret Service briefly stopped traffic, and moments later, President Trump’s motorcade, carrying President Trump inside, passed right in front of us! Regardless of political views, it was an exciting and memorable moment.

Cycling past the city’s monuments — from the towering Lincoln Memorial to the powerful Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, the Korean War and World War II memorials, and the Washington Monument — was unforgettable. Touring the U.S. Capitol and visiting the National Archives to see the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence brought history to life.

One of the most moving experiences was visiting Arlington National Cemetery. Walking among thousands of headstones is always humbling, but watching the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier remains one of the most powerful and awe-inspiring ceremonies you can witness.

We returned home with fresh ideas for our work, renewed energy, and a deeper appreciation for our nation’s history. Washington, D.C. is truly a remarkable city — and we feel grateful to call this great nation our home.
