2025

What’s happening at Tadman Financial?

We’re looking forward to our upcoming October seminars! Both events require RSVPs, and we’ll have dedicated event pages available soon. If you’re interested in attending, please RSVP as soon as possible, as space will be limited for both evenings.

For our current clients, this is a wonderful referral opportunity to introduce friends, family, or colleagues who could benefit from our services. If you’re not a current client, we invite you to join us for a pleasant evening at a unique venue, complete with a free dinner, and learn more about our approach to retirement planning.

Upcoming: September, 9th @ 6PM

Attention: State of Oregon Employees

We will be in Ontario on September 9th with presentations designed specifically for you. During the day, we’ll be at the Snake River Corrections Wellness Fair with a booth and two presentations. If you work there, please stop by and say hello. If you are a State of Oregon employee outside of Snake River Corrections, such as ODOT, or know someone who is, join us for a free dinner presentation at Ogawa’s Sushi Restaurant in Fruitland from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. This event is exclusively for State of Oregon employees, and the dinner presentation requires an RSVP, which can be found on the Events page of our website. Come learn how your unique benefits fit into the context of retirement planning.

October 16th & 29th

Retirement Planning Dinner and Seminar

Tadman Financial is excited to host retirement planning dinner seminars this fall on October 16, 2025 at SpurWing Country Club in Meridian and again on October 29th at The Stueckle Sky Center at Boise State. While these are public events, we always encourage our clients to attend and to bring along friends or referrals who may benefit from learning more about our retirement planning approach. There is no cost to attend, and Marty will be sharing his insights on building a strong, personalized retirement plan.

These seminars are ideal for individuals who are retired or planning to retire within the next 5–15 years. We’re also planning additional events geared toward those earlier in their financial journey. More details will be shared in the coming months, but for now, mark your calendars and start thinking about who in your life might benefit from joining us.

Weekly Market Commentary

Week in Review

Last week began with a focus on the housing market, where housing starts for July exceeded expectations, reaching 1.428 million new construction starts. However, building permits issued during the same month fell short of forecasts. Existing home sales also outperformed projections for July.

Something Personal

Sara’s Family Trip to McCall, Idaho

Our trip to McCall, Idaho, was something truly special, a pause in the rhythm of our lives that brought us all back together. Nestled among the pines and wrapped in the calm of nature, we spent our days hiking the wooded trail to Josephine Lake, sharing stories between breaths (because of the altitude), paddleboarding (we saw a baby moose, two foxes, and the steady presence of deer!), and soaking in the silence that only nature can offer. Evenings were slower, softer. We took sunset walks, gathered for family games, laughed, competed, and of course, ate.

Now that the boys are grown and married (to the most amazing women in the world), living lives of their own, I treasure these moments more than ever. Years ago, one of my biggest frustrations as a mom was constant chaos; piles of shoes by the door, ball caps left on every surface. I spent so much time trying to keep things in order, not realizing that the mess reflected life happening all around me. On this trip, in the quiet of early morning, coffee in hand, as I walked past familiar piles, now belonging to men, not boys, I felt something different. That old “mess” now fills me with warmth. It is a reminder that while they have grown and gone on to build lives of their own, they still come home. And amid the shoes, the ball caps, the “mess,” there was laughter, there was joy, there was presence. I truly felt the deepest kind of joy.
